Golden Mountain is a private investment firm founded in 2008. The firm invests across all asset classes – mostly in the private markets — with a long-term investment focus and a preference for control investments.

The firm has been most active in four specific areas: Direct investing, specialty finance, venture capital and real estate. Golden Mountain’s direct-investment strategy targets small, stable, predictable businesses where our management skills and capital can result in accelerated growth. The firm has acquired and/or co-founded eight companies and has experienced five successful exits, while continuing to own and manage the final three.

GMPE

At Golden Mountain Investments, we’ve spent years refining a successful investment strategy, and we are now scaling it with the launch of the Golden Mountain Private Equity Fund. Our goal is simple: acquire established, cash flow positive small businesses with EBITDA between $750,000 and $2 million, a segment with strong cash flows, significant deal flow, and limited competition from larger private equity firms. With fewer buyers at this level, we can transact at lower multiples and generate increased value through active synergistic management.

TARGET

EBITDA – $750K-$2MM

Small businesses with $750K-$2 million in EBITDA often have an established market presence, a loyal customer base and consistent cash flows. Investing in small businesses with $750K-$2 million in EBITDA allows for diversification across various sectors and industries, spreading risk and enhancing portfolio stability. Our focus on LMM PE is also driven by strong economic rationale and market dynamics, including a larger pool of deals, lower pricing & broader exit opportunities.

Rollups & Value Creation

Acquire 3-5 platform verticals. Once platforms are acquired, the team will identify key areas in need of operational improvements while searching for bolt-on acquisitions for our platform companies.

A key focus is seeking to identify businesses that have scalable revenues and operating cash flows while also being insulated from the effects of economic disruptions. Our goal is to leverage the wealth of institutional knowledge already within the company while introducing our own management team, creating a collaborative operating structure. This approach will allow us to effectively implement operational strategies, with a focus on sustainable long-term growth

Network

GMI has a well-established and extensive network of brokers and industry relationships which serve as a strong foundation for sourcing deals. Our expanded team will seek to broaden this network, significantly increasing the Fund's search footprint. The capital in this Fund will not only strengthen our broker relationships but also allow us to close deals with greater speed and efficiency.

Governance

The GMI team will seek to retain full control across all key areas, including but not limited to Board Governance, Financial Oversight, and Operational Management. Additionally, we will look to invite industry-specific board advisors where applicable.

Due Diligence

We possess a wealth of experience in analyzing companies and determining fair value, along with growth opportunities. Extensive, but efficient, due diligence will be conducted to ensure sound investments are made. Our due diligence prioritizes investments with clear value-creation paths and manageable risk profiles.

Risk Management

We seek to identify risks associated with each potential investment, including financial stability, market dynamics & operational challenges. Post-acquisition, we seek to take an active role in overseeing portfolio companies, providing strategic guidance, to ensure alignment with our Fund's objectives.

Exit Strategies

Buyers can be financial or strategic. We seek to benefit from the arbitrage between (1) our purchase multiples and (2) higher exit multiples driven by; organic growth, rollup growth and higher multiples on a larger sized business at the time of exit.

We invest in business services, industrials, and specialized sectors, targeting scalable companies with a strong market presence.
